A quick little pony tail holder

Good Afternoon Everyone...   just dropping by to  say Hi and show you what a quick little project I worked up last night.. I had 2 skeins of Red Heart Sashay that had knot sin them  at the end.. the one  piece was long enough to  just make a little ruffle  scarf  for my youngest grand daughter.. the other piece I had was  a lot less.. so I took a little pony tail rubber band and crochet  around it with the ruffled yarn..  and here is the result...

I think it came out cute don't you ?

Winter still has us in its clutches

Hello Everyone...

Yes winter is still here but thank heaven no snow.. flurries are expected for  tonight but not supposed to be any accumulations...
I have been keeping myself busy as far as crafts go...   here are some items I have made in the last few months...

these are just some of them that I have made.. gave several away already to family...LOL

 finshed baby blanket that was ordered.. its a sunny yellow  not pale  like it looks here 

this is what I am working on now.. a corner to corner afghan.. its going to be for a baby boy whose room is jungle themed...          

this is also one I have started.. two colors only  another corner to corner 

well thats what I have been up to  in my free time which at times I have to much of.

Its been a long time since my last post...

It has been a long time since my last post... Its been a up and down kinda year  but I  got through it  with the help of family and friends...
I have kept myself  busy with  my crocheting  and here are some of the things I have done..

 a Mile a minute baby afghan

 blanket for a friend

 ruffled scarf for my daughter 

 blanket for a friend of mines grand daughter 

I have also been to Arizona twice once in may last year and once in december just before christmas..To visit my brother .. We all  ( all 10 of us) went to Gatlinburg last October for a family weekend getaway.. I had so much fun with the grandkids and kids.. Even seen my first wild  black bear... just loved it..

just wanted to kind of start going again with my blog.. life experiences  dealing with grief  sharing  my joys' etc... Hope you all had a good new year and christmas

Fiber Festival Greencastle Indiana

So this was my first fiberfest… and suffice it to say I loved it.. was so busy asking questions and looking I forgot to take pics…  top pics are my stash I brought home… then some  vendor pics and last is  Me and my fellow craft friend who is from, texas.. we met there for the first time… Its to funny a former texan meeting a current texas in Greencastle Indiana…. I sure know  now what I would do with lottery winnings…LOL buy me a house with  loads of craft rooms.. My friend Jenny went with me and we both had a blast and  sure loved all that yarny and fiber goodness….

Next weekend is the Charlestown In  fiber and music festival….

Happy Easter Saturday Everyone

Again I have been missing a while.. Not felt like writing much or even pc’ing much either… Spend some time on facebook in the mornings  but other than that  do some housework and  crochet….

Here are some of the items I have finished….

My first granny square pillow… Its more of a reddish brown than the picture shows but no matter I have conquered a simple granny square finally…

a whole baby layette for a little girl to be born in  may…….

this is for a little boy  who decided to come 7 weeks early… he is doing fine although still in incubator….

Other than  this I have been doing loads of  watching tv and when the kids and grands are home visiting with them as much as possible but still trying to not push my company on them …..Its been hard.

I tried a  coffee mug cake the other day

this one was a chocolate Nutella mug cake.. I think just for me I can split the batter in half  and make 2 of them.. one for today and one for tomorrow…It was pretty good…..needed some Ice cream or whipped cream on top though…LOL,, Well that’s pretty much it from my neck of the woods.. I think  even though cold weather is still in the forecast we are finally heading in the right direction temperature wise… Lets hope so.. Want some spring we do….

Ups and Downs

Well I am still here but its been tremendously hard for me.. Being alone isn’t the only issue. Sometimes it isn’t until your loved one is gone that you realize all they did  for you . I have had to deal with several firsts for me : as in  a hospital stay for chest pain, heart cath, found out I have blockages in my right leg that need to be taken care of and also a pseudo aneurysm in my left  caused by the heart cath. (it is actually a more common side effect of a heart cath). Tomorrow appointment with a vascular surgeon to see how to take care of it all… Dietmar was always there for me when things like this happened now its my kids I lean on especially my son. But life goes on as they say as hard as it sometimes is,,

I have started some changes in my life. I changed my facebook page

for my looming to a non profit and have started making baby hats and blankets to donate to the hospital in Dietmar’s memory. Some people have asked me why not chemo hats or  hospice Its simple right now I want to deal with the living not the dying.,, why don’t you stop by and say hello to me

We all deal with grief differently and I think he would like the baby thing since he was so crazy about our littlest grand daughter….

She fell asleep in the box she was playing in… Our little sunshine.

After thinking long and hard about it I have decided to look for a new place to live this house has good memories but also bad ones and being closer to my son who lives in town I think would be a good thing for me.

I was hesitant about where but since my daughter lives further out in the country than me even though its only 10-15 minutes to town when you have chronic health issues then those minutes can be a lifetime as I found out 3 weekends ago. So closer to town or rather my son is what I am looking for.

this one is not a donation but a friend of my daughters is expecting a baby girl in may so I am making this for her.. love the colors on it

I also have 4 baby hats done in Bernat baby blanket pink variegated yarn,,

It helps me focus and keeps me busy especially right now since my energy level is very low and the weather is so cold except the beginning of the week. I hope spring comes soon….

So that’s what I have been up too….

a box of yarn someone donated to me for baby blankets.. all sports yarn so soft and such pretty colors… People have been so kind…..Thank you
